Almon's Shade as seen from the South Wall of Portcullis

I'd love to have a more cohesive theme, but I'm in more of a rambling mood. For the official record, it is autumn and Q4 of the calendar year. The US government is shut down, meaning Will's day job is running on emergency backups (funding-wise, we still have power). The home life is busy with soccer games, cross-country meets, and maintenance. My daughter asked me the other day, "Don't you get tired of living the same day all the time?" My routine is more on a weekly cycle. I wish I could live the same day repeatedly. But I get to pick which day. That's the stip.

Okay, so despite some distractions, Book IV is still moving forward. I'm happy with the narrative and feel like the big moments hit the bullseye. We're around 135,000 words, but don't worry, it'll feel shorter. Beta read is early to mid-November—publication and all that is likely Q2 of next year. But, I'm chomping at the bit to start Book V.

The only hiccup with Book V might be if I explore some other stories. These are standalone books in the apocalyptic and dystopian future genres. The idea would be to run them off, polish, and shop around for a legit publisher. Realms' Anchor is mine, but I'm okay with other stuff plugging into trad-pub. Not that it will necessarily make the cut, I'm just stating the intended goal. Actually, no, it'll suck. I shouldn't even bother. Book V is where I should put my time. Rah!
